ASO Establishes Endowment Fund with Greater Alliance Foundation
The Alliance Symphony Orchestra board of directors has announced that it will be working with the Greater Alliance Foundation to manage the symphony’s endowment account.
“Working with the Greater Alliance Foundation will help us better plan long-term community projects and protect the long-term viability of the community musical group,” said ASO board President Craig Henschen.
The Greater Alliance Foundation is a community foundation established in 1999 to provide people interested in the quality of life in the Alliance area the opportunity to direct their charitable giving toward identifiable and worthy needs that sometimes go unmet by the established charitable resources.
Doug Schwarz, executive director of the GAF, said, “The trustees of the GAF are excited that the Alliance Symphony Orchestra has established an endowment fund with the foundation. Alliance is blessed to have a community asset such as our symphony to enrich the lives of our area residents and this endowment will perpetuate the importance of supporting the arts in maintaining a healthy community.”
The Alliance Symphony Orchestra is also proud to announce the establishment of the Peter Synnestvedt Memorial Chair, funded by an anonymous donor. This donation will provide perpetual funding for the concertmaster position within the orchestra.
“We hope that this generous donation will inspire others to consider the annual needs of the mostly volunteer-based ASO and help keep this great community group thriving,” said Henschen.
The Alliance Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1989 by Peter Synnestvedt to bring together the musical skills of area residents, educators, and talented college and high school students.
